 Katherine Gorge Cruises And Tours

Katherine Gorge Australia is located about 200 miles southeast of Darwin and is accessed by the Victoria and Stuart highways. Katherine Gorge Australia can also be accessed by train along the line that travels between Darwin in the north and Adelaide in the south of the Australian continent.

Katherine River Gorge Australia is one of Nature's most divine creations. With over 180,000 hectares of wildlife, tourists are bound to enjoy every aspect of their visit to Katherine Gorge National Park and its surrounding regions. The area displays some of the most beautiful Australian Outback views such as escarpments, dry bush land, miles of red rock, and a few rainforest habitats dotted throughout the park. The rainforest areas mark some of the only water supplies in the Outback. Wherever water is found, it will be accompanied by lizards, birds, turtles, crocodiles, aviary life, and other forms of animal life.

Some of the most intense beauty in Katherine Gorge Australia is exhibited in the natural flora and plant life. Much of the regions plant life is native to the Australian Outback and can be found in almost no other place on earth. Tours are offered year-round and are relatively inexpensive compared to other tourist ventures in Australia.

Visitors of Katherine Gorge Australia are able to witness many insights into the Aboriginal history and culture of Australia. The original Aboriginal people of Katherine Gorge have recently regained their rights to the land they have called home for thousands of years and which they named Nitmiluk, or Cicada Place.

A visit to the Katherine Gorge Australia area can be enjoyed completely with a hike up to the amazing 12 kilometer Katherine Gorge, which winds its way in between the rough, red sandstone cliffs that can reach over 200 feet tall.
